El pasado fin de semana emprendí mi primera ruta con raquetas de nieve en esta temporada de invierno. Al menos ese era el plan. Terminé cargando mis raquetas de nieve durante toda la caminata como un equipaje extra adjunto a mi mochila. Si bien el clima fue fantástico, las condiciones de la nieve fueron tales que pude hacer la distancia de manera mucho más efectiva con mis botas de montaña normales.
Como pude progresar más fácilmente, pude extender el bucle planeado unos pocos kilómetros. Esto me permitió caminar un buen tramo más allá del terreno con el que ya estoy familiarizado de recorridos anteriores y así recopilar algunas impresiones nuevas.
Debo decir que estoy bastante satisfecho con el rendimiento fotográfico, especialmente porque tomé fotos solo en algunos lugares. En un recorrido de este tipo, tomar una foto significa abandonar siempre el ritmo de caminata. Es clavar los postes en la nieve (la mayoría de las veces se caen de todos modos), quitarse los guantes, sacar el teléfono y reducir la respiración como un biatleta antes de disparar. Sin mencionar las gafas de sol empañadas cada vez después de realizar este ejercicio. Sin embargo, creo que todo valió la pena.
El punto de partida de mi caminata fue el pueblo de Sörenberg, en el sur de los Alpes de Emmental. La montaña emblemática en ese valle es Brienzer Rothorn . Podrás vislumbrar su pico de 2350 m de altura en una de las fotos a continuación. Es el pico más alto del cantón suizo de Lucerna.

Last weekend I set out on my first snowshoe tour in this winter season. At least that was the plan. I ended up carrying my snowshoes the whole hike as an extra luggage attached to my backpack. While the weather was fantastic, the snow conditions were such that I could make distance much more effectively with my normal hiking boots.
Since I could progress easier I was able to extend the planned loop by a few kilometers. This allowed me to hike a good piece beyond the terrain which I'm already familiar with from previous tours and thus collect a few new impressions.
I must say I'm quite satisfied with the photographic yield, especially since I took pictures only in a few places. On such a tour taking a photo means to always drop out of the hiking rhythm. It's ramming the poles into the snow (most of time they fall over anyway), taking off gloves, pulling out the phone and reduce breathing like a biathlete before shooting. Not to mention the fogged sun glasses each time after going through this exercise. Nevertheless, I think it was all worth it.
Starting point of my hike was the village Sörenberg, in the south of the Emmentaler Alps. Landmark mountain in that valley is the Brienzer Rothorn. You will get a glimpse of its 2350m high peak in one of the photos below. It is the highest peak in the Swiss canton of Lucerne.
