#1147 - Intramuros Manila Shots for Sunday.
A peaceful Sunday to us all wonderful Hive friends across the globe! Today is a gift, giving us a chance to pause, breathe deeply and recharge our spirits. May your day be filled with pure relaxation, delicious food and laughter. Enjoy every Sabbath moment😍.
Now for our daily shots once upon a late morning with my wife and I within the historic walls of Intramuros in Manila. We had planned to explore here and lucky for us, the weather decided to be on our side. The sky was covered in gray clouds, a gloomy atmosphere that felt perfect for walking. The cooler air made walking around comfortable.
We're on the upper part of the stone walls which felt like a fortress over the modern city. As we walked along the trenches, the history of this place really came alive. It was incredible to see the ancient cannons still sitting there, surviving the Spanish and WW2 times. These heavy iron cannons dating all the way back to the Spanish colonial era, were positioned right where they would have been used ages ago. I tried to imagine what life was like back then, the sounds of battle and the soldiers who once manned these very positions.
Since the weather was pleasant, we took our time wandering from one section of the wall to another. We didn't feel tired by the heat at all. The cloudy sky acted like a giant umbrella. We stopped frequently to take photos of ourselves against the old structures and the distant city. It was a quiet late morning spent hand in hand with my wife with the rich history of our country.
