#371 - Macro shots of different insects and also some photos at Igorot Stone Park in Baguio City.
Good day again to you my beloved fellow Hiveans. I would like to share that COVID cases is on the rise here again, some of my fellow employees are getting it already while some are having fever for few days now and will also undergo swap testing once their doctor recommend it. So let's all stay safe as must as we can so that we can keep our selves and families away from this virus.
Today I would like to share some macros of our friendly insects, to give them exposure as their world is so tiny only a few may notice them while we walk along the road or park of even in the gardens. But before those photos, let me share one shot of me looking up at a circular opening of a chimney-like stone structure that the locals built in this park. I can only imagine the hard labor which the builders endure to put this up and also the other stone formations in this park.
Moving on to our macro shots of the day, this first one shows a tiny honeybee just landed on one of this small sunflower like daisy. It was already afternoon and I haven't noticed that the pollen sac is filled but empty. So this bee might have deposited its collected pollens earlier already and return for another trip of pollen collection.π
Here we have brownish fruit fly that has landed on the edge of the yellow petal.
Then we got another fly and this time it is blue. I see this most of the time flying around where there is meat but this time it's on a flower.
Then there's these two tiny brown butterfly shaped moth just on the flower collecting its pollens. Lovely duo isn't it?
Last of the macro shot is another honeybee just landed on the middle of the flower. We could see that there is already some pollens in its pollen sac or bag which has the yellowish color i in its hind legs.
Now, back to the park made of stones. Means that it was built by laying rocks on top of each other. The locals here are really good in doing this kind of rock laying skills we call 'riprap'. Wherein there is no need for cement at all but they decided to put some cement on top of the rocks for safety reasons. As we have seen in the first photo, there was no cement at all when I looked up at the circular opening.βΊοΈ
A view from a mountain top overlooking the stone park.
My family, thanks to my wife's friend who took the photo.
Another view of the whole park from the opposite side of the mountain. Here, they use concrete to build the walls and not rocks.
Me looking down at my the camera π. Staying here was a bit scary because in my mind these rocks may crumble anytime trapping me inside.π
Follow me on my nature travels.
