Stormy Sea Gull
This Gull Takes A Stand
This first winter Great Black Backed Gull takes a short rest in the driving snows and winds, on the After Deck of a fishing vessel. The large takeup drum reel of net, seems the perfect place to pause, and rethink the wisdom of flying in a storm. Of course, he is a juvenile, and no one ever said, juvy's make wise choices. Right?
But I Did Get Out And Shoot!
Down at the end of MacMillan Wharf, there were, maybe 10? 15 extra boats who ran from the storm and were tied up alongside. The harsh waves were popping over the breakwater rocks (seen behind, covered in ice) according to one of the harbormasters I spoke with while on the pier. All I know is, I definitely do NOT want to be out in this blow, on a day like this.
