Ice Ice baby

I have shared a shot of the fountain in a couple of posts of recent, one taken with my phone and one in my Intentionally Black post

The title is from the Vanilla Ice Song. and I will include it at the bottom of the post, its funny most times I struggle to come up with a title for a post and sometimes they just come to me while looking at the photos when I song comes into my head.

I do love the fountain in Bryant Park when it freezes up and has icicles, but that only happens when the temp is well under freezing point for a few days and of course, also means a good walk in the cold to go and see it, I could, of course, take the bus up 42nd Street, but I hate taking the bus during the day when the traffic is crazy and actually moves slower than I do walking

And the other sid eof the fountain this time in B&W, there were some nice icicles, but i have seen it even more built up with icicles previous years, and may well again this year if we have ( as I suspect we will) another bitterly cold spell.
most of the fountains in NYC shut down over winter to avoid the risks of the pipes freezing and bursting, for this fountain in Bryant park, they pump warm winter through the fountain to avoid that risk and it creates these cool icicles on it.
