A characteristic feature of all physalis is the fruit-berry, enclosed in a similar to the Chinese paper flashlight shell-cover of fused sepals (hence the genus name: φυσαλίς in Greek means bubble). The Cup for the first time after flowering grow much faster of the fruit. When fully ripe, the Cup dries and its color changes.
Physalis can often be seen-in the decoration of the garden and crafts from plants, even in my childhood I had to make crafts from Physalis.
