Through a covert investigation, the organization documented footage that revealed extremely cruel practices toward animals within one of the country's large-scale farms.
The videos, recorded over several weeks, showed that the farm workers not only neglected injured or weak pigs but also subjected them to multiple forms of deliberate physical violence. The footage captured pigs being forcefully pushed, brutally kicked, dragged across the ground, and even thrown as if they were lifeless sacks. It also revealed workers using sharp tools without any anesthesia during painful mutilations or when violently separating piglets from their mothers.
The organization described the scenes as "inhumane and in direct violation of ethical values and European animal welfare laws." Based on the video evidence, Animal Equality filed an official criminal complaint against the farm owners and workers, accusing them of severe violations of Germany’s Animal Protection Act, which imposes strict regulations on the treatment of farm animals.
