I was sent a very interesting project by , pillar it's called -- I investigated it a little and instantly saw what they were trying to achieve. it's pretty smart -- now I’m not sure if it’s gonna go anywhere or if it will even work in terms of adoption or if it’s just a concept on top of a concept trying to be a middleman again (after all the near future is all about audience attention in the one-stop shop location) but I do like the notion of a wallet that you control and your digital assets and value is contained.
I was watching this video above of them taking a trip over to Vilnius, Lithuania to the Blockchain Centre Vilnius. I’d heard about Vilnius from an article about providing tax breaks and offering incentives for new startups forming in this new digital incubator area.
World Bank Ratings ranked Lithuania number 3 for ease of doing business in Europe & Central Asia. Its capital Vilnius is the core of nation’s vibrant startup community, facilitating a friendly business environment, advanced IT infrastructure (No 1 in Europe for fibre-optic internet penetration), low taxes for business, and favorable relocation conditions.
Whatever I think about pillar and where it might be going it hit me that maybe it’s a destination (and there might be more) where we need to have ‘nodes’ for the steemit blockchain, incubators, a presence in these many co-working locations around the globe where people can come to locally arranged hack days or to support developers in their respective nodes.
I’d say that The home for blockchain technology startups - Blockchain Centre (https://bcgateway.eu) is certainly a place we should be looking at as a blockchain node because they are actively building a co-working location for blockchain powered businesses, being in the same place as something like pillar should make collaborations with easier and together with Utopian.io - Rewarding Open Source Contributors developers you could integrate steemit fairly easily into the pillar project.
this really feeds into the vision that has i believe to have 100 entrepreneurs building on top of the steem blockchain, dpos has already proven it's scalability, if it's about the wallet and it's about the stability and distribution of a stable decentralized blockchain why don't also copy those important assets in the analog world with people (nodes) to match, steem blockchain empowered ambassdors that are active members of these co-working spaces so that steem has an active role to play wherever blockchain companies live.
A unique place for blockchain entrepreneurs, developers, investors, and regulators from around the world to share ideas, know-how, and best practices, Blockchain Centre Vilnius is your one-stop shop for technical, legal, and financial advisory services, with a special focus on helping blockchain start-ups reach their business goals.
What do you think should we be forming a node network of people that can actively approach (on behalf of the steem blockchain or as a node for steemit.com) for startup locations, co-working spots like these so that steem has a presence amongst them?
p.s -- https://www.coingecko.com/en/price_charts/pillar/usd -- currently trading around $1.56 a pillar, might be one to watch and invest in for this year, i'm normally against ICO's that don't go anywhere but this one might have a chance, i'll be watching their steemit account with interest.
