Better to speak out than die in silence
An image generated with AI
Most people are too secretive about their lives even if they have to die in it, and I wonder what sort of pride is there to hide one's predicament and suffer alone when speaking up could bring relief and support from others. A lot of people might see that as a weakness but in my opinion I see it as being human to let others know what you are going through.
Most times, letting others know about your state is not necessary seeking for help but rather a way to open the door for more options out of the situation. When you speak out you allow others to contribute their perspectives and experiences that might shed light on your problem and offer solutions that you never knew existed.
Sometimes it's not about having money to solve your problem that is the main thing, but knowing the best solution to apply to your problem. And speaking out is not only way to get those solutions. There are people who have passed through the same situation as you and survived it, their approach and experiences can be of much help to you in getting out of your own predicament.
The death of a young popular movie artist in my country was announced on the internet a day ago, but it wasn't the death that people was talking about the most, it was the fact that he had been sick in silence for months without telling anyone outside his immediate family members and they all kept it secret from the public. The friends he worked with didn't say anything about it or probably were not told about his condition.
What could have been different if the world has known about his illness? Maybe a solution would have come, maybe he would have still died, but by staying silence in hiding he missed out of a possible solution, and yet the world still got to know about his illness anyway. So what was the point of being hiding and suffering alone in silence?
I don't see any reason why people should hide their struggles, whether health issues, financial hardships or relationship problems and personal issues. Moreover, getting public help is not a shameful thing, if you have the power to stop the problem you wouldn't have been suffering in the first place, so why hide what is beyond you?
Speak out before it's too late, your survival is more important than your pride. Survive first, and deal with whatever comes after it later.
