Hello Paint Time Fans! I am very happy to present to you all... my new mountain painting. This is a paint-along with Aham Art. I wanted to attempt this painting because I have been trying to practice my mountains, and also I covered another painting with pink paint.
I really like the way this painting turned out. I have to say I was not very hopeful going in.
I selected this tutorial because of the pink sky. I have been painting most of my skies blue, or orange, so this was a nice change. The light pink above the mountains makes it look like there is a layer of fog coming in over the peaks.
I also like the colors of the mountains; getting darker as they get closer. I was able to practice making flowers in this painting. I like the color combo of pink, orange, and white of the flowers, and the shape of the leaves. The sun and the birds make it the perfect scene.
I think this mountain view certainly would be a nice place to visit. Perhaps a picnic? Or a selfie stop during a road trip...
This painting was created on top a used canvas.
I do think I will be covering up most of my older paintings, just because canvas is not cheap, and I am only partially attached to a few of my beginning projects.
I had a bit of trouble shaping the mountains. Aham has a flat mountain in the very back. I couldn't manage to make it straight. I wanted it to be pointy, and so it is.
I'm not even sure how I got them all to look so nice. I just kept mixing paint, and painting over it until the mountains looked like mountians.
I had fun painting the leaves. I continued to add leaves with different shades of green until I could see the shape of a bush.
I then mixed up some of the pink, making a star shape for the main flowers. Next I made a tulip looking orange flower, and then filled it in with the white flowers.
I hope you are enjoying following along as I learn to paint.
