Is there any strong border between entertainment and art in popular culture? Our time demands simple form with instant message. So, could we include something worth thinking about? Something that will wake up our sleepy spirit and make us keep talking.
The Pink Floyd was always intriguing me. Their performance full of delicate visual sensation, mystically atmosphere looks like some kind of cult. That’s why millions of fans are passionately supporting this British band. Nevertheless, it seems that many of them never ask themselves about powerful message which Floyds want to share. And that’s always two meaning message, sent to civilization and every single man.
"Another brick in the wall" has crushed many walls- either, in ourselves and around us. Me, I was always interested in "Keep talking". This song accentuate the meaning of communications. The author minimizes the widest picture as he talks about humans who lived millions of years as animals until they have spoken. So, the sense of speech have become breaking point in our evolution.
Then, the song puts lights on personal drama in man's soul and he is not able to use that power. Surrounded by the silence, he can't win her by his own voice. Even when he became conscious of his own weakness he is unable to articulate it. Could you imagine Prometheus who stole the fire from Gods, and when he came in front of the confused people becomes more confused than them. Unable to touch others with our words we are helpless. And that word is all we need. That word is our way out from labyrinth.
This song communicates on both levels. How many wars (in the past, present, unfortunately, in future) could be stopped if we have talked to each other. If we run away from our own silences, if we have been searching for right words. Because, silence is a sign of weakness, and talk, is the courage.
The Pink Floyd have better songs, for sure, but I believe in actuality of this one. There are the same misunderstands between countries and citizens. It is an apsurd, because this is the time when it's easy to communicate to people from all around the globe. But, that is in another story. For now, turn on some Floyd's music and, please, keep talking.
