Hello fellow steemians and welcome to 1984! I came across this video on YouTube yesterday that poses a powerful question of why #pizzagate has become such a thing:
It seems that question has been answered with Obama quietly signing into law the Countering Disinformation and Propaganda Act of 2016:

This bill, introduced in March but quietly signed into law yesterday while the majority of us were enjoying the holidays with our loved ones, grants broad powers to US government agencies to attack any media that dares to go against the official state approved narrative, one that has been time and again shown to be disinformation and propaganda, or do we still believe the official 9/11 story? I guess now we know why forces within the intelligence agencies have been steering researchers towards pizzagate-related subjects even before the release of the Podesta emails. I wonder if they'll use that bill to prosecute the Washington Post for the article they wrote that started this whole "fake news" thing that they have since admitted was likely fake:

Somehow I have my doubts that that is on the table.
Meanwhile, the censorship battle has found new ground right here on Steemit as a certain socialist-leaning (judging by his name) whale who shall remain anonymous has used his steempower to flag pizzagate related posts, drastically reducing researchers payouts ensuring that those who come here seeking one of the last few remaining bastions of free speech don't gain enough steempower to threaten his great whale authority.

So fellow steemians and researchers, it seems the battle is upon us to fight for our right to speak our minds and follow the evidence wherever it leads and share our findings with each other. With the questions of Obama's birth certificate and our new leader soon taking office this clearly unconstitutional bill will hopefully go the way of all their other desperate attempts at violating our rights, provoking wars, and generally making as big a mess as possible on their way out.
