Back into 2006 I had the opportunity to visit Army Air Corps base Aldergrove in Northern Ireland. This base is part of the 5th Regiment AAC and back in 2006 Lynx Helicopters, Gazelle helicopters and Islander aircraft were based over there. Also some RAF Puma's could be found at Aldergrove. Nowadays the Gazelle and Islanders are still there, the Puma's have moved back to RAF Benson.
During my base visit I had the opportunity to make some pictures, I hope you like them:
Westland Gazelle AH1 XZ334:
Picture made in the maintenance hangar.
Westland Gazelle AH1 ZB669:
Colorfull Gazelle helicopter pictures on the platform of AAC Aldergrove Airbase. Typical for the Gazelle helicopter is its fenestron tail (first ever on a production build helicopter) which is a protected kind of tail rotor blad working like a ducted fan.

Westland Lynx AH7 XZ179

Notice the special "sneaky" camera hanging next to the helicopter.

Although I haven't seen that many aerospace related pictures here at Steemit, I still hope you liked this blog.
