Seriously...HOLY CRAP this is a ton of volunteer tomatoes. Last years I have thrown oodles of spoiled tomatoes to the birds which they picked through, but the seeds remained. Follow the seeds remaining with my dumping more than a ton of spent brewing grain over and around the yard, covering the seeds in a thick layer of nutrition. The large amount of rain combined with the yard going feral this year meant these all had ample time and nutrients to get nice sized.
Now I have to figure out watering and some form of support for them. Maybe just leaving the lambs quarters to act as a scaffold for them will work best since pulling them will disturb the shallow roots of the tomatoes thus making them fall over. Water is going to probably have to be overhead for the area I need to cover.
I am scratching my head trying to come up with somewhere to relocate some to. This may be the best spot for them.
