One thing I enjoy about pulling out the box of Christmas ornaments is the memories that come pouring over me each year. I have some ornaments from my childhood and others that have become part of our family throughout the years. Some were given and others were purchased. All have become a part of our family celebrations.
Crescent Santa
This one I call the Crescent Santa and was given to me by a friend and colleague years ago. So long I don't remember except that I think my sons were teenagers back then.
The Tiniest of Ornaments
This ornament was one I purchased (over 20 years ago) as a set from a co-worker's kid who was selling holiday items as part of a school fundraiser. I thought I was buying a set of regular sized ornaments. I was not expecting these mini ornaments, but I grew to love them. I called them my itty-bitty ornaments. We've moved several times since their original purchase and at this point only this single ornament remains. So, I treasure it's smallness and am glad to still have it as part of my ornament collection.
The Drummer Boy Ornament Has No Boy
I do not remember where this ornament came from, but I do know we've had it for quite some time. I think of it as my Little Drummer Boy ornament. Even thought there is no actual boy associated with the drum. The "Little Drummer Boy" song and stop-motion children's holiday special is what comes to mind when I see it.
As an adult, I've seen the meme about how a kid playing the drums right as soon as the baby went to sleep is probably not exactly what an exhausted Mary would have thought ideal is pretty funny. Having had two sons, I can totally relate.

That wraps up this holiday season post. Thank you for indulging my walk down memory lane. No matter where you live around the world, I hope you have a wonderful holiday celebration.
