We’re all guilty. I’d wager not one among us hasn’t uttered the phrase “Hive is going to the moon!” The community is saturated in it. It’s a fair claim.
But it’s not the entire truth of the matter.
Hive isn’t a missile with a static target. Hive is a pilgrimage. We aren’t aiming to shoot off one big load and splatter against a cold stone. We want to expand.
Everyday there’s a project releasing an update, or rolling out a new feature, or announcing plans for one of the above or something else. None of them have a specified stopping point. Splinterlands isn’t going to wrap everything up with what’s currently cooking. Neither is Exode or dCity.
Nor will the 3speak team finish up their current project then fuck off into the wind. These are people with visions, many of which overlap, and they’ve built an environment where they and others like them can thrive.
This isn’t a rocket, it’s a starship, and it’s already colonizing cyberspace.
So, I said that to say this. Maybe we should all forget the goddamn moon and focus on ensuring the hull isn’t going to implode once we depart. I really like the idea of not getting blow out into the vacuum of space and I think if you think about it you’d dig that, too. It’s probably all just rambling from here, so I’m out.
