Hey guys!
Sorry it's been so long, but this was a special episode! I had my first guest on that wasn't a friend or, ahem, my boyfriend, so the scheduling got a little off, but it was so worth it! My guest, Ruby Warrington, is the creator of the blog called The Numinous, as well as the author of upcoming book, Material Girl Mystical World. I'll link to her website at the bottom. I've followed her blog for a couple of years now, so it was amazing to actually get to talk to her in person! We talk a lot about ritual, and the role of alcohol in our social consciousness.
This brought up topics that really centered around the idea of being your authentic self, and how that defines every area of your life. By listening to your inner voice, intuition, or whatever you like to call it, we can create lives that feel true to who we are and thus create more happiness! Ruby and I also talk about how alcohol can either enhance or numb this connection with ourself and how to navigate the tricky waters of imbibing.
Ritual is important in all of our lives, but it can feel so intimidating to call something or create a ritual. There are many ways to go about creating ritual in our lives, using the cyclical timing of nature, the moon, or even just doing the dishes or drinking our coffee in the morning. In episode ten, we talk more in depth about what defines ritual, the importance of ritual, and again, how substance use plays into ritual.
So go check out her blog, the-numinous.com, and give episode ten a listen! Don't forget, please drop us a rating and review on iTunes if you liked (or didn't like) the podcast, and if you have any questions or topics you would like to hear on the show just go to casualadulting.wordpress.com and give us a shout! Thanks guys! Oh! and it looks like the embed code is working now, yay!
