You may have heard me go on and on about my love of podcasts. They are probably my favorite way of devouring information; they are convenient, educational, entertaining, and allow me to go about my business hands-free. Of all the podcasts I love, Radiolab has to be one of my all time favorites.
Radiolab is investigative journalism with a touch of humanity and sincerity. The hosts, Jad Abumrad and Robert Krulwich have been collaborating together on this science focused podcast since 2004. While I have enjoyed almost every single episode of Radiolab, these are my favorites:Words
If you never stop to think about how fundamental language is to your existence, this podcast will have you obsessing over words, and what it could possibly be like to exist without them.
The Good Show and the Bad Show
Technically two episodes, but you can’t have one without the other. These explorations into the worst and best of humanity showcase the entire spectrum of our morality.
The Buried Bodies Case
For those of you who love true crime, this may be your gateway to Radiolab. In this episode they explore the technicalities of criminal defense, and what it means to give good defense to a terrible person.
9 Volt Nirvana
In this episode Jad and Robert speak with an editor who began investigating trans-cranial direct current stimulation, or in other words a zap of electricity to the brain, and its effects on concentration, skill, and learning speed.
Blood
Radiolab delves into this most basic human substance and our fascination with it.
