Oh, how you are stung as by a viper!
You are poisoned in your flesh,
Yes, by rejection you know this,
Those sharpened fangs, Oh Biter!
Hurt like venom in your midst.
Your stomach pit is tight with it,
And your mind does naught else know.
For you have suffered pain,
Your song has been cut short,
Your pride has been brought low,
And darkened thence your day.
Behold! You are a human, Man,
And prey to mortal ills of soul—
May understanding make thee whole...
