If only life were more like a game
Starting with a page of rules and aims
Take it easy to begin with, nice and slow
The game doesn't progress until you grow
Miss a bit, go back, try again
Respawn out of trouble you may get in
Hints, tips and cheat codes galore
Type motherload if you need more
Laid out paths, choices and dialogue
Your biggest problem's a giant frog
Don't know what's next, that's ok
Wait for a hint, something shiny
Purpose, direction, places to hide
If your really stuck theres always a guide
Failure isn't an option, no I mean really
If you are that bad, the game gets easy
No colour, creed or gender to pixalation
All players start equal, work for elevation
If choices and options are your destiny
Then try something different each replay
Be good, or bad, or chaotic neutral
Express yourself, change it as you do
Rob a car, kill a cop, give a hooker concussion
Let all your rage out with no repercussion
Keep a pet in your pocket, a bunny today
But I think tomorrow i'll try a manta ray
Build a rocket to space, crash and burn
Expand your empire every turn
Progress through to ages of civilization
Be a leaf on the wind out for reclamation
Defend your base against enemy waves
You're always covered by auto-save
One I wrote a while ago and have finally decided is finished. Some poems grow slowly over weeks, this was one of them. Hope you enjoy!
