Days for sipping
Some days
are languid tisanes,
fine-ground;
brewed in a mason jar.
Since I do not have a sieve,
I wait in between
agitations
for the sediment to settle.
Frothless,
careful, pouring with a cloth barrier.
Some days
patience must be conjured,
to avoid a scalded tongue.
I sit and wait
for the cup to cool.
Some days
mustn't be gulped,
but only sipped.
