Pay your tithes or pay the price,
Don't allow me to say it twice.
God looks on, sees what you make,
Would you have him, your fortune take.
God is not pleased with you today,
Step up your pledge, your plight away.
Don't be smart, toe the line,
To Men of God, be sublime.
Sickness, penury, untimely death,
Holy Ghost fire, guard your berth.
God made you not a nonentity,
Your pockets empty in its entirety.
God blesses all cheerful givers,
No truck has he with thrifty deceivers.
All Thomases depart from here,
Else regrets you'll have to bear.
Today is your day of joy,
Line up people with God enjoy.
Folks with a thousand, step up here,
Folks with less, with God forbear.
These words into my ears are drummed away,
Drummed through the years till I am old and grey.
Can't cross God's threshold, no wads in hand,
With the G.O curses, in hell I will land.
Shine your eyes folks like moonlit beams,
Not everything they say is as it seems.
God seeks your heart, never your purse,
Listen as he tells you to fear no curse.
