Everso often in life we are given a gift
Seen by some as a taste of serendipity or
As a parable, a eureka moment or
An awakened dream.
It has been called an Epiphany
Whether we are wondering in the dark
And suddenly before us is a beacon and opening
To help us find our way,
Or
You are amongst those that run from the light to the darkness
Because it’s where you are most comfortable being.
And during one of those times
That you slip away and are hidden
You discover a new meaning, a new rhythm
To living much greater than ever before.
You discover in the darkness a silence that is louder than noise
While simultaneously coming out of your shell as your spirit
For the first time has a place, a space to spread its wings.
And within another layer of that same moment.
In the very instance that you break free
From all the cares and fears that weigh so heavily,
You consider in thought silently,
'Am I holding the chains that keep me stuck
Or are the chains holding me?'
And you expand beyond your physical form
And at that moment you hear, feel, and have a 'knowing' of so many things.
You experience a growth that is both beautiful and magnificent
And all you want is for all of this to last
And to forever stay right there which is here.
You struggle with this enigmatic phenomena, desperately trying to hold on to this epiphany.
It bids you goodbye and slips away, vanishing before your eyes, yet leaving with you forever an imprint of that sacred moment,
That moved you and separated you anew away from the person you will never be again.
It is indeed an epiphany,
A brief mystery of a visitor, that allows us just a glimpse
Into other dimensions and worlds,
Or just another corridor of our own world
That we had not been privy to before.
Another part of our existence that is cloaked splendidly invisible,
Only making itself known when it wants to be seen.
And it enters in-between moments and unplanned movements
On our journey
Intruding ever so gently,
To bring us a gift, a surprise, a message of intrigue,
Leaving us doing a double take and in awe,
As we fathom this imagery.
As we witness things that we struggle to believe
Dancing for just a minute with the wonder of it all,
Asking did your eyes really see
What you describe as an epiphany.
