RABBIT HABITS
From the tips of my nose,
All the way to my toes,
A soft little bundle of joy.
My charm and my skills I employ.
There’s no one I can’t win over,
As I hop among the clover.
I lie in the sun stretched out,
Then sometimes I run about.
I listen for danger with ears upright,
Always ready to run out of sight.
A warning I make with my feet,
So others too can retreat.
Safe in my burrow I hide,
Be it in a log or hillside.
You’ll see me run on the lawn,
Most active at dusk and dawn.
From the garden I pick and I choose,
I eat all the veggies, then snooze.
I think that carrot is my favourite,
I nibble it slowly and savour it.
When it comes to the garden – fussy I’m not,
I’ll hop about and eat the lot.
When I can no more consume,
I pull down my ear and groom.
Bunnies don’t like to live alone.
They live in big groups it’s known.
They have lots of babies or kitten,
With their cuteness you’ll be smitten.
Now bunnies they love to chew,
On anything yes it is true.
They do this to keep things just so,
As their teeth and their nails do grow.
I love to be wild and free,
But as a pet happy can be.
But remember if I am your pet,
Sometimes I may need a vet.
This might get you into debt,
But I’m worth it, so please – don’t fret.
