New Arrival
Your long dark wait is over, young thing!
You arrive with loud cry and tears in eyes,
Naked, cold and wrinkled do you present yourself;
To loved ones and indeed the world,
We gaze in awe upon tiny perfection, wriggling.
You engage in deep sleep, to muster strength;
For pending demands, in a language of cries,
Your eyes are open to light, but soon to life.
Hunger will soon drive you into confusion -
Now working through your first ‘happy’ meal,
The first of many you’ll soon learn to love.
Your biggest desire is to be close to mom,
For love and comfort from which you will not tire,
Sleep young one, for life may be long and challenging...
We all welcome you, and wish you the best of Luck!
