There once be a converge
Of a great like minds
On nature they lived
And on earth they fed
Well cultured they made
Before they intrude
As if it wasn't enough
Made a generation curse !
Left a guard as
The neo of my land
Become a mess to
My mercy
With a woody heart
They care not
With a deafened ear
My cry they hear not
Who am i to cry?
I am African !
A child of the soil
My soul ought not toil
But see, beneath am boil
For what is my need?
When am of the seed
Bear me the need right
I am African !
A future leader i claimed
But where lies my aims?
All lost in dam
Education aids
What and what do i
Need to claim?
The sector astray
All faded away
Where lies my hope ?
All tangled on rope
Open the door for lope
And make me escape
On me, an invisible chain
Only to follow a lane
Am sick of being a lame
What crime have i committed?
Because am an African?
Yes, for i will always be
My father's father and
My mother's mother are
Proud to be
In blood i swim and
Bones are strong
May my day not be bonded
For am only but a child
Hear out my cry!
