Welcome to Echoes, a compilation of Poems. This one goes by the name, A Token of Love. I as an author, had these thoughts running while penning it down. However you (readers) can interpret it in your own way and leave comments on your narrative.
Figure of Speech - Metaphor
Mood - Mournful
Tone - Sad
Form - Free Verse, as it does not follow any set patternThis poem is more of an Ode. In this poem the first person, who is a girl is dead. The poem begins with a backdrop as a night. One dark silent night, She hears a heartwrenching deafening cry. She could see Him from heaven's above. It was Him, Him again crying out loud. Crying out of agony,of longing and pain. As He wails the downpour begins, and it rains unconsolably. To Her it seems, that even the clouds above could see Him distressed and they too are shedding tears on His behalf. She missed Him. His touch, His lips, His presence, His essence, but He wasn't there beside Her, anymore.
He was suffering from remorse as He kept thinking, He is the reason behind His lover's death, who was the sole reason of His survival. He was tired of confinement. His emptiness had begun to consume Him.
Oh! It was heartbreaking for Her to see Him, asking God to take away His life which He thinks will be His Token of Love for His Beloved!

Slowly,
The night perched in,
as I was waiting,
Waiting for it to get darker
and darker still.
In the queer silence of the night,
I could hear a shrill cry.
A cry of pain, of thirst, of longing.
A roar of thunder and
Then it began to pour.
As if the sky shedding tears
On his behalf.
I could still see from above.
I could still feel him,
Smell him fresh.
And he, was still there,
Craving Waiting Longing for me,
Piercing his heart apart.
Asking God, every time a tear tickles down,
to return Him
his reason to breathe, His LOVE.
Tired from solitude,
He too asked for death,
which his lover received
as, A Token of Love
from her Beloved.
