Today, as I was feeling Japanese (or, I thought so anyway), I decided to better this world by writing poetry, specifically the elegant and beautiful Haiku.
Poetry has been a major influence in not only American literature, but throughout the history of civilizations worldwide. Even in modern society, poetry can touch the heart of an individual in ways unimaginable, with only a few short lines...just like I was touched today (not sexually, this time).
I want to give back to the world. Today, I remembered all those poems that influenced my life and decided that the best way to help people was to touch them--with words. So, today marks a new era in my life.
This will grow into a great collection, and I will devote hours of bleeding, sweating, and crying, into ensuring that these poems capture the essence of my feelings. I can only hope that, after you read this first haiku, you feel moved in a way unexpected.
Here it goes, and feel free to reflect on this in the comment section at the bottom of the page.
The Wind Has Tears (Haiku #1)
Door opens for the party,
Room filled with men,
Sausage is hella lame.
