Before I was even born
My mother tenderly torn
the pages of the holy scroll and ate
its words like bread, to feed me with honesty,
wisdom and holiness.
**
The words of truth physically opened my mind and injected
an eternal belief in my lobes.
Growing up I was told that a man without faith is like
a flower planted in the desert. No salvation, no nutrients.
When the sun sets
its mouth overwhelms me with its words
whispering: "Faith is the very essence of life".
Strife shivers and loses weight with faith as my wife.
**
I was told that everything is possible,
only if you believe.
I was told that my subconscious mind is belief itself.
Meaning it is part of me and I am part of it.
I was told that faith can move mountains
and stop fountains from flowing, and cause oceans to run dry.
Believing all these things is believing in the essence of life.
Having faith, in essence, is believing in God.
Believing in His superiority means believing in his powers.
**
I shall forever cling to my faith like a bird to its wings.
I will shackle myself with strings
and bind my mind with faith's links
because it is the key to set me free.
