Here is my first Steemit post!
A little poetry for you.
Matching my "curious.the.cat" vibe.
I hope you enjoy!
The poem is meant to be a bit dark.
It's a reflection of the
disappointment of today's youth.
It's also an interpretation of
the full quote "Curiosity killed
the cat, but satisfaction
brought it back."
Curious curiosity
It's good for the soul
Curious curiosity
Feel my mind go
Low long pauses
With dubious causes
Making the waiting
Seem never ending
Sun shine rays into darkness
Faithful illusions turn hopeless.
A dimly illuminated alley,
A faded musician in the gallery.
Her delicate blackened fingernails
Strumming a lonely acoustic,
Whispering 'who is it?'
Guitar strings vibrating
In the curious wind,
Whose melody they try to sing.
Dancing, searching,
Lingering freely.
Surrounded but lonely
With only a guitar's melody
Opening scars of delicately
Wrapped pasts.
Curiosity and dead cats.
Waiting for Satisfaction
To bring them back
You see, we [the youth] are young and vibrant and curious. But then our idealism fades and we find ourselves alone and dirty in an alley. The melody of our guitar is trying to hold onto the freedom and curiosity which we lost. At the end we are "waiting for satisfaction to bring us back," but people only know the first part of the quote: "Curiosity killed the cat."
