A professor entered a class and told his students to prepare for a surprise test. With anxiety written all over their faces, they waited for the test to begin.
The professor handed over the question papers with the text facing down as usual. Once he handed them all out, he asked the students to turn the page and begin.
To their greatest dismay, there was no question on the paper except a black dot at the centre of each paper.. They all stared at the professor in disbelief with a bewildered look . The professor seeing the expression on their faces told them the following: " i want you all to write what you see there.
The students still looking confused ,buried their faces on their papers and got started on the inexplicable task.
At the end of the class the professor took the question paper and started reading each one of them aloud in front of all the students.
All of them with no exception described the black dot. After all have been read, the classroom fell silent.
The professor began to explain:
I am not going to grade you on this. I just wanted to give you something to think about. No one wrote about the white on the paper, everyone focused on the black dot- and the same happens in our lives.
We all focus on the negative aspects. Our lives is a gift given to us by God with love and care, and we always have reasons to celebrate - our friends around, nature, the air we breathe. To mention a few
However we insist on focusing on the black spots, the lack of money, complicated relationship, slow progress, the dark spots are very small but they are the once that pollute our minds and sometimes makes us act irrationally.
Take your eyes away from the black spot. Enjoy the blessings in front of you, be determined to forge ahead come what may. Don't let the mistakes you make take the better part of you.. Rather, learn from them.
Start the year with a positive mind
Act postive; be positive!
