About a week ago I saw a post that had an impact on me. Two great artists and
working together to combine photography with poetry. You can check

I liked the idea right away. It's a great challenge and experience for both parties.
Then a few days later I had a chat with my dear friend (who is writing poetry by the way), about one of my drawings. During the conversation I realized that if he can see so many things in my drawings, we could do a collaboration. He could express what he sees and feels in a poem. To my surprise he said yes right away!
Working with another artist is a great honor and also a great responsibility! I was very happy he is willing to associate his name with my art, especially with my drawings. It is a big deal to me because I'm at the beginning of experiencing new forms of drawing, and most of my drawings are just practices, but I thought if my drawings speak to him, something good might come out of it.
After discussing some basic details, I sent him a photograph of mine and gave him time to think about it.
Choosing a photograph or a drawing that needs to be matched with an unborn poem is exciting and difficult in the same time.
As a photographer, when I see a scene I like, my main focus is on finding the best angle, the best time of the day so the light would be perfect, if I have that luxury and so on.
The chosen photograph is very dear to me because it can be interpreted in two ways, in my humble opinion. I can see "the light at the end of the corridor”, or I can see a “road that is narrowing down” towards the end. Or I could see a lot of other things depending on my mood and state of mind.
A poet on the other hand could see totally different things when looking at the photo.
To my surprise liked the photo right away, and after a short period of accommodation he was able to write the poem which it turned out great!
Yearning Wit
Solid was the oak beneath her tote,
The thought disposed as tiny note's,
She peered through wickedness,
A time ago,
Now was a wonder,
Her time to grow.
It was,
Transcendentally, incidentally,
Forlorn,
Laden with scorn,
Uplifting melodies, she's torn.
Straight ahead she peers,
Through vast thoughts,
And long lined tears,
She reels, and tossed,
Give it another.
She fails to blunder,
It's all but lost,
Crackling thunder,
She rises tall,
Like tides in fall,
Through wicked winds she feels enthralled.
She'll never crumble,
She'll never fall,
For what was lost, cannot be found,
She takes a knee,
She feel's the grain,
She throws away, her mental pain.
Again she fixes in her gaze,
Her labored days are all a haze,
She never stumbled,
She never quit,
She quietly planned,
Her yearning wit.
Combining the photo with the poem was also a collaboration, after some drafts we decided this is the final version we are both satisfied with.
This is the first post of the project, according to I get to post it because the collaboration was my idea. He's going to make a post as well, in which he's going to share his experience with the project. I'm really looking forward to reading it, I'm curious to learn about his experience.
The next step will be an interesting one. He's going to write a poem and I'm going to find a photograph or a drawing to match the poem! This is going to be a real challenge for me and it might take a little longer, or not. It depends on the poem I'm given.
I really enjoyed working on this project and I hope we can keep on working with each other.
Feel free to tell me what you think about the outcome. Any constructive comments are welcome.
