Opposites Don't Always Attract
Like attracts like
Opposite of what we've been told
When once I was young
I know different now that I'm old
Like complimentary angles
When we are opposite
Despite our best efforts and care
We add up to be rigid and quite square
Let me further illustrate
I like to dance like a fool
Why partner with another who at the thought
Simply freezes stiff as a tool
What fun is there in sharing a drink
Fine bourbon aged to perfection
Over outpourings of the most intimate part of my soul
With someone as dry as a burning coal
Surely opposites do attract
Every sadist needs their masochist
But my ego and I agree
I'll have more fun with someone who's just like me
