Your eyes, so blue and bewitching
Smiling effortlessly from both ends
Lodging behind those fine curtains
Of lashes and painted brows
Towards the West of that smile sits
A dimple deep enough to eat a finger
Your face is an epitome of beauty
But this face knows no joy nightly
Waning by the approaching sunset
As you set your pillow to a journey
Of Tears -absorbing.
Dampening your sheets with salty water
From once dazzling eyes at daytime
Grief, your nocturnal friend is tired
Of coming like Nicodemus.
His unfortunate brother, anxiety who
Loves company above all,
Has himself given up on you .
They insist on visiting at daytime
But you wouldn't let them escape
From behind the Mask of Smiles.
A smokescreen of glossy skin
But today this pent up steam threw
The lid off and gushed out
You forgot your mask or they probably
Had a prison break when you let out
That big cry at school library
You've had it up your throat
And your emotions and smokescreens
Came gushing from their vents
