Every page of my diary knows your name
Each drop of this ink has spelt out love,
On this white island called paper
But the letters have refused to take flesh
Yesterday, when our eyes met in bliss
My face smiled on its own accord and,
My lips craved for an embrace with yours.
I do not know you beautiful one
Yet, I love you. Madly!
I have a heart to give you
The remainder of a sapless soul
Will you treat it as fragile?
For I tell you solemnly
There's no space left for stiches
Your kind, have into shreds torn
This poor heart of mine.
Just when my hope has aged
Humped and about to breathe its last
You came.
Now, on every smiling face I see you
But the heart I kept for you
Is no longer a youth.
It counts its beat so also these,
Wrinkled Rags called skin.
But then a frown comes and kidnaps you
As the fitful call of 'harry!'
Jolts me up from the wonderland
From this utopian lounge of my bed
'prepare for school' nna, 'you'll be late'
I rise from the bed, plop myself in the sofa
And wonder what cruelty this morning brings.
