Darkness lurks in the hearts of men
The metaphysical controls the physical
Even the purest of men possesses a drop of darkness
In chains monster bound
Waiting for the right moment to be unleashed
Violent and hungry he growls
Like a hungry predator sighting its prey
How long can he be held in
The yoke on the verge of breaking loose
Not much time left
Disastrous the outburst will be
Tame! Tame! Tame!
The monster humbles
Only the strong can tame the monster within
Only the strong can subdue the power of the monster within
As easy as putting a dog on leash
But the feeble gets trampled by the monster within
The monster shapeshifts into different forms
At one time as rage
At other times as fear, hatred and depression
History has it that no man ever killed the monster
But only great men conquered and subdued it
As long as we live our monster lives
But like a plant watered to grow
So does the monster within grows when fed
Like a starving man is without strength
Likewise how powerless the monster becomes when starved
Feed your monster and it controls you
Starve your monster and you control it
The choice is yours to make
Nobody chooses to be a slave when you can be a master
Whip or whipped
Conquer the monster within
this poem talks about the monster in us all represented as emotions. Emotions like rage, fear, hatred, depression, etc. Don't let your emotions control you. Take charge, be a master of your emotions and watch things turn out well for you in the end
Learn to remain calm in a situation of chaos or anarchy, learn to remain positive even in the midst of negativity and experience a turning point. Hope you're inspired by this
