People who are damaged far too often end up damaging others. It creates a cycle that is hard to break. For some the damage of their past is pure poison, distorting their outlook, their ability to give or to care for anyone but themselves, and the self-awareness to seek help for what ails them; instead they poison others. And in doing so they feed their own self-loathing, then do it again.
Words can slice much deeper than any physical abuse.
