Doomed to Love
Lips mesh in breathless embrace as pulses race and hearts give chase
love long delayed but now achieved in total abandon on swelling seas
she flirts her hair tempestuously now, as from their secret meeting place
they join in heated frenzied lust, passion grips as reckless hunger begs
complete release from gilded cage, as on her silken limbs caresses trace
a glorious wanton prize to slake insistent thirst that beckons still.
Heedless of cries from decks above as frozen berg descends the night
the lovers’ whispered moans unite and as the swelling tides gain height
their smothered groans deny the sight as those aloft bewail their plight.
Thundering hearts hear not the dread, nor heed the calls of they who fled
their clutch for life in full defeat and who in their watery graves now lie
as opulent finery thus destroyed, the sultry throes of craving buoyed, while
forward funnel plummets then, with stern engulfed in frigid waters high
as death looks on with mournful eyes, the two now one with longing sated
sleep, and in their fatal lovers’ bower, submerge with one last sigh.
