Cloaked in a comfortable mask,
Afraid of being revealed.
The partygoers enjoy their evening,
Of dance, laughter, intrigue and mystery.
With only the faintest fear of rejection,
And all of the pain that it brings,
Lingering in the air,
Where no one can see,
But everyone can feel.
The good people who are afraid,
Have learned through the years,
How to talk and behave.
But one thing they have not learned,
Is how to conquer their greatest fear.
The fear of revealing themselves.
