This poem reminded me of William Butler Yeats The second coming.
I enjoyed how the speaker plays with words to create rhyme, rhythm and flow. The words themselves were very pleasing, and I even read it aloud to get a feel for them in my mouth; and it felt good to speak them.
I just had no idea what was going on or what the references were to. It seemed totally obscure; I'm sorry! At best, I guessed that it was a poem from the perspective of some cosmic being watching the universe over a long time frame.
Is everything sinking into a black hole? (duh; i should have remembered the title) that gives a good guide to what is happening.
I liked this image:
Drifting along a course like water draining down a sink,
Though, I think it was the only image, while the rest were understandable know remembering that the poem is about a black hole.
Are the last three stanzas about what is on the other side of the black hole?
Thank you for sharing this poem! I really enjoyed many of the phrases even if I didn't always understand them. Please keep sharing.
