Some 20 years ago I was 16 years old. I was a junior in Highschool. And I had just brought home my first baby. A little girl named Abigail...While she was a great baby. She had a horrible time getting to sleep at night. After weeks of sleepless nights, I stumbled across the solution. For whatever reason I could sing her to sleep in minutes every night. However, after a while I couldn't think of any more songs to sing her, and I became bored with the same ones. so I ended up making up my own. It goes like this...
Once upon a time I knew,
a girl I loved and that girl was you.
And I needed to tell you,
that my love was oh so true.
So one night while I was alone,
I sat down and I wrote you this poem...
Abby, Abby, please don't cry,
I love you and that is why...
As our love grows up this hill,
I can't leave you, and I never will.
And should you ever be in need,
just call out, and it's dad you'll see.
I sang it to her until she was around 2. However, by time she was 5, she no longer rememered me singing her to sleep, let alone the song I sang.
I know its a little corny, but now it is saved forever in our blockchain. To protect it against being forgotten. For her.
I love you Abigail. Forever.
*Oh, that's her future husband,(my son-in-law)Alex.😀
