A sunny day with somewhere to go
Some women are thought beautiful
But the true test of beauty is simple:
Does she arrest you,
And make you linger?
Well, you do those things to me
And when you leave
I can’t tell if night is forlorn
Or my heart burdened
Now that you're gone,
And that’s why
I write this poem.
But do you ever read my words
Or just the notes my fingers
Trace upon your body?
You’re impossible to forget
Yet easy to regret…
And irresistible.
Your gravity bends light,
Collapses moments,
Pulls me and my whole damn world
Into your orbit.
You’re impossible to forget
And you know it.
