I’m rewriting one of my manuscripts and listening to epic music while crafting sex scenes. Yep. Sure am. This poem is my way to procrastinate.
The good news is I’m about fifty pages from the end of this rewrite, which is rather exciting. I’m looking forward to revising book two in the series, which might be my favourite.

Give Me More
I’m a fiend. All I want is more.
Epic beats in my pounding heart.
Thirst without hope of satisfaction,
Hunger splits me apart.
Music like hands on my skin,
Mouth open to draw breath.
Give me more. Please, I need it.
Gotta live to defy death.
Waves of passion rise and peak,
Tension twining through me.
Muse like sunlight in my blood,
Blinded by the fantasy.
Crooned words promise paradise,
But it’s nothing of the sort.
It will break, shatter, self-destruct,
This song is always too short.
I’ll be left with hunger again,
Wicked laughter echoing from afar.
Build me up, tear me down,
Burn me like a shooting star.
Music like hands on my skin,
Mouth open to draw breath.
Give me more. Please, I need it.
Gotta live to defy death.
