Today is my birthday. Earlier, I took myself for a wander, and figured I’d write a few words to paint the moment into something tangible.
Newness in being, I walk.
Hummingbird sings by.
Breeze kisses leaves.
Sky deepens to dusk.
Old thoughts circle:
Twin vines named
Lonely and Longing.
I cut through them.
New faces form.
A fresh adventure grows
Itself in my imagination.
A love affair with my muse.
The mountain hides the sun.
Cool creep the shadows.
I stride down the hill,
In gratitude, and grace.
Original Writing by Katrina Ariel.
I’ve got a new WIP (work in progress) underway in the manuscript department, so I’m on a writer’s high as my characters reveal themselves to me and the plot drops bits and pieces into my brain at a time. That’s likely how I’ll spend the rest of my birthday. ;)
Hope you enjoyed the poem. Thanks for reading!
Whatever happens, keep singing your song!
Photos mine. The top one isn't recent, but I like it, and it fits the poem.
