Poem For Best Friend

I think I always mentioned this one on my previous blogs that Hive account@deeday31 is one of my besties. Now that she's miles away from us, I wanted to give her something that she likes the most. I couldn't afford to buy books for her so I decided to make a scrapbook.

I should thank Hive account@korinkrafting for conducting such contest which made me think that scrapbook will be my gift for Diday before she leaves. However, I intentionallt did not pass it before the deadline because I'm afraid Diday might see my blog post then it will not be a surprise anymore.

Apart from the DIY contents and pictures and drawings from the scrapbook, I also wrote two short poems for her. My goal was to make her cry because she's refraining herself to shed some tears. But, I was running out of time and made me write short poems only.

A nurse by profession,
A loving mother as her main occupation.
She claims to be a tactless writer,
But check her steemit profile
Bet you’ll disagree with her.
Her name is Johannah,
The ever hot Momma.

She easily laughs to and fro,
Then jumps like a kangaroo.
Now that she lives from afar,
We'll miss the curly superstar.
To Diday, smile and lost not your Golden Hue.

The first poem is supposed to be in a Couplet, however, there is one line that doesn't have the same rhyme and they all don't bear same meter. It was really hard. So I'm going to challenge myself again to write couplet next time. Now the second one is Limerick and this is my first time to write it. I don't know if it still counts as a Limerick but still I'm happy with the result.

What is Limerick?

A limerick is a form of verse, often humorous and sometimes obscene. It is a five-line poem with a strict rhyme scheme of AABBA. The first, second and fifth line have the same rhyme, while the third and fourth lines share a different rhyme but should be shorter than the 1st, 2nd and 5th line.
