ALL ALONE.., ONCE AGAIN

Been so long since she lied,
all alone in their bed.
And she tossed and turned,
with visions in her head…

What once was a sanctuary,
the start of new life.
Was now just a memory,
of all the nights they shared…

She sat and she stared,
night after night…
With all her memories so close,
she held on so tight.

Alone and lonely..,
she wasn't used to this life.
She'd always been surrounded,
by the love of her life.

Was it worth going on,
day after day…
With all those sweet moments,
fading away.

She was trapped in a space,
that no longer existed.
How could it be home,
it she was there all alone.

And she thought of herself,
as she once was...
When he would hand her pretty flowers.
this day every year.

With tears in her eyes,
and pain in her heart.
She remembered her love,
as they danced til dawn

Drifting with her thoughts,
she smiled at better days.
Of times spent together,
and the memories they'd made.

But when she returned,
from her trip through the past...
The air dark and heavy,
light gone from her eyes.
All alone.., once again.
