We think finding love is this answer - and when we stumble into our person everything will just be easy, and happy, and free.⠀
⠀
But it's not. It won't. Love will be impossibly imperfect. It will be all the passion and excitement, mixed with heartbreaking decisions and teeny-tiny moments that define the rest of your lives. It will be anger and frustration. It will be tiredness and a longing to walk away, to let it all go when it begins to fall apart. It will be questioning and fear. Because choosing someone means choosing them over and over again. It will be calm and comfortable, and wild and unpredictable in the best ways. It will be uncertainty in the sense that life will change, you both will change, and somehow you must learn to love one another all over again.⠀
⠀
Love is not easy. But that doesn't make it any less beautiful. So perhaps we should stop glorifying it as this answer, and see it as a question - can we trust, can we let go, can we be vulnerable, can we believe? Can we honor it, even when it's complicated and frustrating and downright hard?⠀
