We shall see what direction this one takes us as the poem-off between and I continues on its epic path!
You can read my counterpart's latest entry here: Spring Cardinal
What I really love about this little challenge is as I rediscover works from the past and recall the exact topic or emotion they were written about; while knowing they can be interpreted as many different things depending on the reader. This one in particular drives on the for me.
feel free to take it a completely different direction if you like :-)
Game.....err, Poem On!
Basic Premise
Sky's go out in a flash of bad
Confusion sets in common folk
As threats come to their land
Coming back to the basics
Nothing else will ever compare
A denomination of one
Protecting the basic premise
Found lying under the sun
Cyclical cleansing comes again
Clear sky, seen up ahead
Tendencies of the norm back in place
The foundations of life
Once again, can barely save face
Denomination branching out
The basic premise is forgot about
But it feels like home, for the masses
Where they once were
What's a poem-off, you ask? A challenge between
and I to see if we can go turn-for-turn and repost some of our long lost poems from the vaults of time. No rules apply, and new stuff might just make the mix!
Regards,
Mitchell J
