The Stars and a Snake
I said a little prayer today
As I looked up and envied the stars
Oh what I will give just to shine
Even if it's just for a moment
Take life one step at a time
That's all I hear everyone say
Yet I hear the flip flops
More than I do the tick tocks
Just look deep enough
And soul searching will hold meaning
I only feel pity for my eyes
If only they could see In the dark
Hands and feet remain tied
Still it's me who is looked upon
How do I lead in this world?
Maybe I have to be a snake
This short poem summarizes what we all go through in the struggle to be at our best in life. A lot of times our friends, family and the society at large have high expectations from us, and more often than not they want us to deliver. They are also either totally ignorant or do not accept excuses about the difficulties we face towards achieving these expectations.
I hope you enjoy the poem.
