On the wind,
I heard a sigh.
In the sky,
I saw the signs,
And the omen wasn’t good.
Suddenly I locked eyes with evil,
And fear ravaged my heart.
A strange cold numbed my limbs,
And screams died in my gut,
As I stood in its sight.
I felt it crawl on my skin,
Then it surged in my veins,
And flashed right through my mind,
As I quivered in fear.
In surrender I stood and stared.
Goosebumps grew on my skin,
And sweat dots mounted every pore.
My heart raced like a fox,
Its’ beats sounding like drum bangs.
It was the sting of death,
It had come for me,
But then a hand tapped my shoulder,
And I sprang from my sleep.
Jeez! Jeez!
What a nightmare I was having.
